The Ten ‘Most Beautiful Women in the World’ who prove that True Beauty is Ageless

Three women who’ve long since received their bus passes are in this year’s Wizard Jeans list of the ‘Ten Most Beautiful Women in the World’ – and one of them is in her seventies, supporting the old adage that true beauty is ageless.

Helen Mirren [65], Catherine Deneuve [67] and Sophia Loren [76] feature in Wizard’s 2010 selection which is topped by one of the youngest woman on the list, Penelope Cruz [36] with Claudia Schiffer [40] in second place and Kristin Scott Thomas [50] third. Queen Rania of Jordan [40] takes the fourth position.

Further down the list are Charlize Theron [35], Kate Beckinsale [37], and Natascha McElhone [39]. Grandmother of two, Sophia Loren, is in tenth place.

Wizard Jeans monitors the public face of celebrity beauty in media coverage throughout the year to create the annual list, focussing on a premier league chart of just thirty well-known women during the final stages of selection for the top ten.

“Our top ten women are often the subject of spontaneous and unexpected press exposure yet always manage, somehow, to look great,” says Sally Allen of fashion jeans makers Wizard. “Sometimes they’re caught without their make-up, on bad hair days, or in less than flattering poses, but their natural beauty always seems to shine through.”

Commenting on the 2010 chart, Sally Allen said; “There is no question in my mind that Penelope Cruz is a worthy winner. She was an undoubtedly pretty girl when she started her acting career at sixteen but, twenty years later, she has matured into a particularly beautiful woman and a fine actress.

“As someone once said, the difference between pretty and beautiful is that pretty is temporal, whereas beautiful is eternal.”

Sally Allen observes that both Helen Mirren and Kristin Scott Thomas seem to have improved with age. “They were both pretty girls but their beauty has become more apparent with maturity.”

Commenting on rumours that Sophia Loren has involved a degree of surgery in her beauty regime, Sally Allen says; “Nobody can say for sure but nobody seems to have spotted any real evidence of plastic surgery and, as anyone can see, Sophia still retains the youthful bloom which can only be achieved naturally.”

Sophia’s claim that she owes her body to eating spaghetti is probably the one area of genuine doubt, according to Sally Allen. “I’d say she owes it more to superb clothes which flatter the female form and provide her with that youthful look. As a company, we’ve spent considerable time and research producing a jeans design which uplifts the bottom, flattens the stomach, and contours the hips, so we know a bit about it.”
